Import Cost Data (Header Information Only) from a .csv File

Use the Cost Data Import wizard to import cost data header information from a .csv data file. This allows you to bring in cost data from Cobra and the header data from another system.

Note: In order to import cost data header information from a .csv file, you must first select the Deltek CSV Format option on the Platforms (Deltek) page of the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box.
Note: The steps below are for importing the cost data header information only. To import the complete .csv file, see Import Cost Data from a .csv File.

The Acumen installation includes a comma separated values (.csv) template file called CSV Template.csv and some sample DECM files that are located in the Acumen > DECM Samples folder. To import cost data header information from a .csv data file:

  1. On the S1 // Projects tab, in the Projects pane, select that project/snapshot to which you want the imported data to be added.
  2. On the S1 // Projects tab, do one of the following:
    • In the Projects pane, right-click on the project and select Import Cost Data.
    • In the Get External Data From menu group, click Cost Data > Cost Data.
  3. On the first page of the Cost Data Import wizard, select Import cost data from: Cost Data CSV (Import header information only).
    The Add data to selected project/snapshot option is automatically selected and disabled since you have to add the data to the selected project/snapshot.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Browse to and select a cost data file with a .csv extension.
  6. If you selected the option to import WAD on the first page of the Import Wizard, select the worksheet that contains the WAD information. If you did not select the WAD option, skip this step.
  7. Click Finish.
    Acumen overwrites any existing data in the following header fields:
    • CBB (Contract Budget Base)
    • TAB (Total Allocated Budget)
    • PMB (Performance Management Baseline)
    • MR (Management Reserve)
    • DB (Distributed Budget)
    • UB (Undistributed Budget)
